We inspected official documentation for repository import or sync, supported build environment, backend and data boundaries, test or review surfaces, source ownership, and deployment. Browser builders: Lovable, Bolt, v0, Base44, and Replit

Lovable is a strong fit for creating and publishing supported web applications from a conversational browser workflow. Its documentation says code can sync to GitHub, but a project cannot currently begin by importing an arbitrary existing GitHub repository.

Bolt supports importing existing GitHub repositories, branch-specific work, built-in hosting, and a managed database path. It is attractive when a fast browser loop matters more than a provider-neutral project record.

v0 now connects chats to projects that share files, deployments, domains, and environment variables. Its GitHub workflow creates branches and commits, making it especially relevant to Vercel-centred products.

Base44 combines a managed backend, authentication, data, functions, integrations, and hosting. Replit combines Agent with a cloud IDE, imports, services, and deployments. Both reduce setup by keeping more of the runtime inside the platform.

Coding agents: Cursor, Windsurf, and Claude Code

Cursor and Windsurf are best understood as agentic development environments. They search code, edit files, run terminal commands, and preserve review or checkpoint workflows while the developer stays close to the code.

Claude Code is a terminal agent. It fits teams that already own a local development and Git workflow and want an agent to operate within it. These tools generally require more technical judgement than a guided browser builder, but can be a better match for complex existing codebases.
